This barn was in extreme trouble when we arrived. It had excessive rot and deterioration, and was liable to collapse. We carefully took it down, and did all of the repairs in our shop, which allowed us to safely work on the pieces in a controlled environment, allowing for the highest quality repairs possible. The other benefit of taking the barn down is it allowed for the client to rebuild the stone foundation, and pour a slab with no obstructions, which helped keep costs down. We oversaw the timber frame raising and assisted the general contractor in sheathing the roof and walls in eastern white pine. This barn is proof that almost no building is beyond the point of repair!
