20'x36' Barn

Charlotte, VT

This project was designed to meet all of the client's storage requirements, as well as to have enough space for a small workshop. It is a good example of a barn sitting on a slab on grade -- instead of digging traditional frost walls, the slab sits on crushed gravel and insulation. We have used this foundation type on a number of barns and outbuildings with great success, and it is a good option for buildings that do not require basements. This was a turnkey build, for which we designed, cut and raised the frame and provided custom carpentry for the doors, windows, roof, stairs and loft. All the wood is local eastern white pine, sawn at LSF forest-products.
