This camp in the mountains of the Adirondacks features a medium sized 20’x28’ footprint with a sleeping loft. In step with the log form architecture of the region, the house has round log rafters, log joists, and a central two story round fork that supports the roof. The center log came from an ash tree in the client’s backyard— which for us, and the client, made it our favorite part of the frame! The exterior porch was fabricated out of white oak, chosen for it’s resistance to rot and weather. As always the high quality eastern white pine was harvested locally, and milled by LSF Forest Products, in Fletcher VT.
